The majority of the people use English as the common language to speak to each other. We all use it both for personal and professional purposes. But, we can absolutely understand what it takes to sound like an inactive English communicator. Many people start getting inspired from other communicators. But, a question remains vibrant in our mind consciously or subconsciously that how is it possible to sound unique while we communicate to others. Our intentions remain clear to stand out of the crowd as the eminent examples as perfect communicators. But, somewhere this remains as dreams only, as we don’t focus on the specific strategies and our determination to make us absolutely unparalleled. It is important to be a different and authentic communicator.
No one in this world can say he or she is the best as a communicator here onwards, because the evolution of communication doesn’t remain stagnant concept of believing ourselves as superior. Someone else is simply crossing your efficiency at a certain point to go to the next best level. The only option remains here is to keep evolving with ideas what you have acquired and to observe your progress whether you are standing out different or not. A speaker must reflect the efficient skills by keeping the instructions of distinct communication in mind. These instructions are specific, individual and fruitful steps to make you a perfect communicator.
Greetings and Courtesy to be a Different and Authentic Communicator :
This part may reflect an easy element to you, but my intention is not to focus on these basic steps of greetings. The examples of basic greeting are: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night, good day etc. These basic greetings are absolutely helpful in many of the places but try to concentrate on the question “Can I make a little bit difference?” This quest of making difference and constant effort to rectify your innovation if it carries errors, are everything you need to get success. My concept is not to keep you diverted from basic greetings rather I want you to add some texture along with it depending on the situation. I can give an example: “Good Morning Sir, it’s an honour to meet you here” (interview scenarios). You need to form your innovative ideas according to the situation, time and moment. It precisely fives an idea how mature you are in initiating a conversation with deep interpersonal skills.
Use of Effective Critical Words to be a Different and Authentic Communicator :
We all have noted it many times that how attractive it sounds if a person keeps speaking with a wide range vocabulary. Verities of different critical words make the topic more interesting to listen. It brings listeners’ attention more alive. If you imagine a speaker you have heard speaking with a wide collection of critical words in a group, you can recall the memory that his or her communication was far more distinct. Effective vocabulary means the collection of suitable adjectives to qualify the nouns, the wide range of nouns related to the specific topic, and authentic verbs. Once you start working on this range in a very specific manner, you learn an extensive phase of words to always remain distinct among others. But, keep one instruction in mind of not using too difficult words every time. It is a splendid idea to use critical words but use it to create sudden emphasis.
Purpose to be a Different and Authentic Communicator :
As we have already discussed in the previous chapters that communication is a human need. Communication is instrumental or directly satisfies certain needs like physical, emotional, social, psychological etc. For that reason each and every communication has a definite purpose. The purpose is linked with both the sender and the receiver. Without purpose any 24 communication can be rendered useless. A statement of purpose not only describes what we want to accomplish, but also helps us know at the end of the communication whether it has been achieved. The purpose can be classified into two broad categories- general or specific. General purposes can be to entertain, to inform, to attract, to regulate, to instruct etc. Specific purposes involve influencing, to motivate, to enquire, to persuade etc. The listeners of communication play an important role in the communication process because they influence the medium of communication.
